About Us
Helvetica is one of the most commonly used and clean looking fonts out there. Developed in the late 1950′s by Swiss typeface designer Max Miedinger, in 1957, it was designed to provide competition to Akzidenz-Grotesk, who dominated the Swiss market. The aim of Helvetica designs was to create a neutral typeface which could be used in a huge variety of signage and writing.
The name Helvetica was brought in following initial success in 1960, and to help market the name of the Helvetica fonts to many different countries.
Nowadays, though, Helvetica is one of the most cleanly cut and commonly used fonts on the web. Known for the ease of use to read in small sizes, the different curves and slants of the font style makes it very unique and extremely clean to read and use. It is most commonly used by websites and advertising campaigns, yet it is extremely difficult to get a hold of… For free that is!
This is why we have set up EphiFonts.com. We want to give everybody the chance to download from one of the most well-celebrated and professional series’ of fonts out there. The quality of Helvetica fonts is almost unmatched – and you will find free download links to every type of Helvetica font – Light, Compressed, Inserat, Textbook, Rounded etc… We have links to them all for free, allowing you to produce quality designs and headers for anything you require.
We also post regular blog posts about the Helvetica font family, so you know everything you need to about the fonts and the best ways to use them, as well as some great tips for putting them in effect and the history behind the fonts.

Hi. Are the fonts free to use at all platforms, without any restrictions. I don’t want to have a lawsiut against me from Hoefler & Co for using CothamNarrow-Ultra as a webfont. Can you clearify?

Thank you.
This is the best site for the fonts I have had hunting for! I had challenging time looking for “Helvetica Condensed Bold”. Thank you so very much!
I just want to get what I want to do done. This is the Internet. I used to pay companies to so-called “protect” my images on my web site, no right-click, no view to source code. Sadly, the money I paid does not change the fact that there are too many people with too many ways to doing too many things.
Soon after I joined the Open Source team and I realized that things made by normal people have security and freedom in mind. Heavily commercialized and advertised things are money interest to money-minded and power-hungry people.
Our pleasure Beth!
Wonderful site to discover upon. I found it really interesting to read a little about each font.
You’re welcome Lee!
