For a font that had very humble beginnings as road and traffic signage, the DINBek Bold typeface sure has come a long way. This sans serif typeface belongs to the FF DIN family, which originated in Germany in the 1930′s.
Since then, The DIN family has been expanded to include relevant new versions of the typeface, and the DINBek Bold is a product of that expansion. Based wholly on geometric structure, making out the squares and rectangles on which this font is based is not a very tough job. The DINBek Bold font, as the name suggests, is made up of characters with bold, strong strokes.
Its neatness has earned it pride of place in many areas of typography, for example books, magazines, posters, etc. Since it is a bold typeface, it is extremely popular for use in headlines. Professional web designers make plenty of use of this typeface. Although it has evolved a lot, it somehow still maintains a primitive look.
