Designed by Max Meidinger in 1957; Helvetica still remains one of the most favoured and preferred font world over. The font derived its name from the Latin name of Switzerland, where it was first created in the Haas foundry. The grotesques from the late 19th century form its basis; however, years and many refinements later the font now finds itself to be a sub-category of sans serif of neo-grotesque.
