Helvetica is one of the most popular fonts in the world of design today. It is more than fifty years old and was first designed in the year 1957 by Max Miedinger for Switzerland’s Haas foundry. The font got its name from the Latin name of Switzerland; i.e Helvetica. Most Helvetica fonts find their foundation in the grotesques from the late 19th Century; although there have been modifications and refinements over the years. United States was first introduced to the font in the 1960s; where due to different alignment standards new versions got added to the font design by Mergenthaler Linotype.
Helvetica is a universal font with high degree of versatility. Designers have found this font to be one that can effectively carry any and every message; creating the desired effect with perfection. Helvetica Condensed Black is one of the condensed and compressed designs of Helvetica font. It is best suited for an array of display and visual applications such as logos, advertisements, billboard messages and even newspaper headlines. A large number of companies, organizations and brands have shown loyalty to this font over the years; making it all the more popular. With its vast spectrum of styles as well as versions, Helvetica is sure to remain the all-time favourite.
