When Paul Renner designed the Futura font style in the year 1922, he might have never thought that it would go on to become one of the most successful typefaces in the world. The font was only put in commercial production in the year 1936. In between these years various other forms of the font were being designed.
The condensed form was launched much after the official release in the year 1950. The oblique pattern of the Futura font was designed in the year 1928. But the Light Oblique pattern of Futura was developed in the year 1930. Later on, it was applied to the condensed format giving rise to a new typeface called Futura LT Condensed Light Oblique.
It is the same as the condensed typeface with 256 characters. It differs only in the use of oblique strokes which enhances the overall appeal of the characters.
